The Old town of the Polish capital Warsaw is a cultural scene for concerts, theatre and artistic performances during the summer. The Old Town was destroyed in World War II, but the reconstruction has been so close to the original that the town is on the UNESCO world heritage list. A stroll along the Royal Route gives visitors a glimpse of many centuries with its palaces, churches, patrician houses and government residents. In the outskirts of Warsaw the summer resident of the Polish King Jan III and the Powazki Cemetery are situated. Warsaw can be discovered in many ways and looking at themes like “Heroic city”, Social realism in Warsaw, the new town, Warsaw Judaic or Warsaw of Chopin are just some of the ways!
